I recently heard about an old man who had made millions of dollars, very successful, but he was

selfish and he hoarded all of it. He told his wife, when I die, I don't want you to give a dime

of this to our kids, our church, or the poor. I want you to put all my money in my casket with me.

Well, three months later, the guy dies, And at his funeral, the pastor's wife is sitting

next to this widow, and she can't resist. She leans over, and she said, oh, man, please tell me,

you didn't put all that money in that casket. And the widow said, well, I had to keep my word,

so I wrote him a check. And I put it in his his front pocket and I said, if he can cash it,

he can spend it, right? Well, that wife is what we would categorize as a wise woman. I was in

Walmart recently. If you can't find me, I'm either in Walmart or Waffle House, okay? Two's greatest contributions to Western civilization, in my opinion. But I'm in Walmart, and this mom is pushing her cart in my direction, and walking beside the cart is her three-year-old daughter. And the first thing I noticed about the little girl, she had her flip-flops on the wrong feet. You know what I'm talking about? And she had obviously cut her own bangs. They were in this big rainbow kind of formation. And she was wearing a bathing suit in October. And to compliment the whole ensemble, she had taken her brother's helmet with her from home, a football helmet, and she was just walking and swinging it. It was just quite the sight, and it made me

laugh. And when the mom saw me laughing, she passed me and she said, it's a battle I didn't want to

fight today. And we've all been there, and I thought, that mom is what we would categorize as a

wise woman. Now, interestingly, when we speak of wise women, when we talk about women that are put

together emotionally, physically, relational, spiritually, the Bible uses a curious word to describe them.

And it's the word modest. Now, in American psyche, when we think about modesty, we tend to think of

clothing that women wear, and modesty definitely implies that. But it's not limited to that.

Matter of fact, the Greek word the New Testament uses to describe a modest woman is Cosmeos. And this is a word from which we

derive our English root word for cosmos or universe. It's fascinating to me because it technically

means well arranged. Well arranged. Now here's what I don't want you to miss in the same way that we can

trust the universe to do what it was designed to do, which is operate in an orderly well-arranged

way. We can also trust a modest woman to do what she was designed to do, which is operate in an orderly and well-arranged

way. So my first observation, biblically speaking, is the obvious one. A well-arranged woman
