Let's go to 1 Corinthians chapter 12 beginning at verse 1.

about the Holy Spirit.

Paul writes now concerning spiritual gifts.

You can't miss this.

Ignorance is not bliss.

You know that you were once Gentiles, those outside of the covenant of God.

And when you're outside the covenant of God, you're desperate.

You do all kinds of stuff.

And he's talking to the church of Corinth who incidentally,

just like all of us were once Gentiles, before we understood.

He said, you know that you were once Gentiles carried away with these dumb idols,

dumb meaning they can't speak, like unprofitable things,

even some of the things that we embrace now,

believe in, will give us some sort of hope or protection.

How many of us know it's nothing but the blood of Jesus?

And the host of heaven that offers true and lasting protection,

are you tracking with me?

Because only the anointing breaks the yoke.

So he's saying, now you know that, you know what you came from.

You were carried away with these dumb idols, however you were led.

And then he says, therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God

calls Jesus a curse.
