Welcome to FFT and 5. I'm Chris Towers. I'm here with Dan Schneier. We're talking about the toughest players to rank for the 2023 fantasy football season. And one guy I'm really struggling with, I just wrote my Seahawks preview.

This was a guy who we all viewed as a legitimate alpha, superstar wide receiver.

Last season, Target share, career high, high 141 targets also a career high

and everybody's kind of out on him you know i ended up having him ranked 14th or 15th

that wide receiver but my projections had him 10th and that was mostly taking last year's target

share maybe regressing it a little bit

because of the addition of Jackson Smith and Jigba, but also last year was a real low point for him

in terms of his efficiency. Yards per reception dropped below 12. Remember, he was a guy who's in the 15 range

early on in his career. And the biggest difference was he just wasn't making plays after the

catch. First three years of his career averaged at least four yards after the catch per

reception last year dropped to about 2.4. So that lack of big plays with the ball in his hands,

that could just be who D.K. McHaff is moving forward. But we know he's one of the most physically

gifted wide receivers in the NFL. We know he's incredibly difficult to tackle. Only one broken

tackle all season last year. I just think there's a chance. He bounces back, sustains the

volume from last season, gets back to being like a 13 or 14 yards per catch guy. And all

of a sudden, we're talking about a guy who's getting 1,300 yards and is back

in that wide receiver one discussion.

So I do think D.K. McHaff has more upside than perhaps his rankings show.
