Tough Talk at the summit meeting in Mexico.

Hello again, I'm Marvin Alney, and this is To the Point from Public Radio International,

a daily look at the issues Americans care about most.

George Bush and Felipe Calderon are both Ivy League MBAs who support the free market

and want to see immigration reform. But Calderon had strong words for Bush today about that issue,

about U.S. demand for illegal drugs, and what Calderon called Neglect of Mexico since September 11th.

On to the point, as President Bush ends his Latin American tour with Calderon,

we'll hear about high-profile issues and low expectations.

Will Calderon be a counterforce to the influence of Venezuela's Hugo Chavez?

Also today, Democrats demand that Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez step down.

First, the summit meeting in Mexico. During President Bush's first year in office, he made much of his friendship with Mexican President Vicente Fox.

Then came September 11th.

Today, after stops in Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, and Guatemala, Mr. Bush is in Marada, Mexico for two days of talks with Fox's successor, Felipe Calderon.
