And I'm real glad to be here doing this thing.

It's funny.

I said earlier listening to her to talk about my book and I got embarrassed.

It's amazing how we get embarrassed by things we do there. For the other years, there are an 12-step recovery. This meeting tonight has nothing to do with it. You know, so if you're waiting for somebody to read something or someone to yell at somebody or someone to accuse someone of crying of self-pity, it's not going to happen tonight.

What am I to talk about tonight is codependency.

People might also expect me to talk about food,

seeing as how we're doing this for a eating disorder's house.

But at the back of all these issues, drug addiction, alcohol addiction, food addiction, eating disorder, whatever label you want to put on it are some core issues. And I think one of the things that I'm discovering is I go keep working on this stuff in order just to survive and have some kind of a life is that these issues go back to when I was real

small, and it's very possible that it's these very issues of being raised in an alcoholic

or a dysfunctional family.

I don't want reasons that I used drugs and alcohol in the first place, that they were really

the cause, the driving force in my

life.

So what the hell is co-dependency?

Boy, that's, you know, codependency.

I don't know how it sounds to the girls, but to most guys, it really sound kind of wimp, you know?
