| 0:00.0 | Welcome, everyone to the score fantasy football podcast. |
| 0:17.4 | I'm your host, Justin Boone, the lead fantasy analyst at the score. |
| 0:21.9 | Always appreciate you taking some time out of your day to spend with us here. And that really motivates me to |
| 0:26.1 | just keep putting in the work every single week. And today is no different. We're run through |
| 0:30.2 | all the injuries from this week's games. And then we'll go over the top waiver wire ads heading |
| 0:34.2 | into week seven. But let's get right into it here, starting with the injuries. |
| 1:31.4 | Quarterbacks came away pretty healthy this weekend. Joe Burrow is the one that did get a little bit dinged up. Seemed to smash his head off the field at one point. They took him out. They gave him a concussion check. Fortunately, he was able to return to the game. So that's the usual situation. We'll just assume that he's going to be fine. but you always want to keep an eye out just to see if he has any symptoms if something pops up over the next 24, 48 hours. But I'm expecting he's going to be good to go for week seven. That is all for the quarterback. So we can go to running backs next. And the biggest one here, it actually happened on Thursday, Jordan Mason, who was filling in for Christian McCaffrey already, doing an outstanding job. He's the RB 9 and fantasy points per game prior to week six. Now he's dealing with a shoulder issue. It's an AC joint sprain to be specific. He did try to return to the game in the second half. That didn't really last very long, though. And there's a few things to consider here. He's gonna have 10 days to heal up since that happened on thursday so it's a little extra time for him plus the 49ers are 3 and 3 they're back atop the nfc west the record isn't |
| 1:37.4 | where they want to be of course but they can't really afford to take their foot off the gas at |
| 1:41.6 | this point right and finally the other thing I would remind |
| 1:44.3 | people, this is a Super Bowl rematch with the Chief. So do you think that the 49ers want this game? I think they probably do. I think there's a good chance that Mason is going to suit up for this one, maybe get less touches than he has most weeks. If he can't go, though, Isaac Arendo. He gets the nod and we saw him in this game. He had a big, big run late in the game there. He put up some good stats. He went down right before the goal line there to try to run the clock a little bit, even though they ended up giving the touchdown to Kyle Hughes check. Regardless, Grendo, a rookie, kind of in the mold of what like a Matt braider or |
| 2:17.8 | Elijah Mitchell what those guys have done in this offense has the wheels to |
| 2:21.7 | create big plays to be that home run hitter he's not on the level of Mason I |
| 2:26.5 | don't want to even suggest that so if Mason plays you're gonna start Mason even in |
| 2:30.6 | a tough matchup if he's out garenda would be in the conversation as an RB2 for fantasy, though. James Connor, he suffered an ankle injury. They taped him up. He came back in. Wasn't able to finish the game, though. Now, was that because of the injury? Was that because he fumbled when he came back in? Was that because the Cardinals were getting blown out? Was it a combination of all those factors? that's probably where the real answer lies. But this is one we're going to have to monitor because Connor has been a strong fantasy option this year and most years, like I always talk about in the offseason. But injuries to the Cardinals offensive line, that hasn't really helped him recently. We still know when he's healthy. He's a top 15 fantasy back. |
| 3:07.9 | If he misses a game, then the rookie Trey Benson, he would become a fantasy RB2, with Amari Demericado being a flex option. And Demercato, if you look at the box score, he had more work than Benson in this game, but it was a lot to do with the game script there. They were getting blown out. Benson, he's the direct replacement for Connor if Connor is sidelined at any point. |
| 3:27.8 | Demercato, he's the one that would just steal some passing down work. Travis Etienne, so he was banged up entering this game. He had that shoulder issue. Remember, hasn't really seemed right all year, to be honest. Now he's week to week with a hamstring injury that he suffered |
| 3:41.1 | in this game, wasn't able to finish the contest. And we've seen Tank Bigsby seemingly outplay |
| 3:46.2 | him all year long, looking like the better back. Well, now he might actually get his chance here |
| 3:51.8 | to put his stamp on this backfield, because I think Etienne's going to miss probably a game or two. |
| 3:56.5 | That puts Bigsby into the fantasy RB2 mix with Dearness Johnson being a flex option. Everybody remembers Dearness Johnson. He's popped up on the fantasy radar a few times. But Biggsby should get a favorable game script here going against the Patriots. The Jags are staying in London. So they're going to be acclimated. They're going to be ready for the Patriots. I would make sure that Bigsby is rostered out there. If you're in a very deep league, Dearnis Johnson, he's a potential pickup as well. Jerome Ford on the Browns. We got reports before this week that Nick Chubb would probably be activated, would probably be able to play in week seven then Ford goes out he injures his hamstring on Sunday he left |
| 4:33.8 | the game early. He didn't return. Now they're calling him week to week. And my guess is that Chubb is going to come back. And that will lead to them giving Ford a week off, maybe a couple weeks off, let him get healthy. They won't have to rush him back if Chubb's in the lineup. |
| 4:47.8 | And they have some other guys at running back. I'll talk more a second here. But Chub, coming off the injury, there is a chance with Ford not out there. He could be a high-end RB3 with RB2 upside. And that would be if the Browns are crazy enough to really give him a big workload right away. I wouldn't do that, but I have a feeling that that's what's going to happen here. |
