Welcome everyone to the score fantasy football podcast. I'm your host, Justin Boone, the lead fantasy analyst at the score. Great to have you riding along with us today as we get you caught up on all the injuries from week three. And then we turn our attention to how we can improve our rosters for week four and beyond with some of the top waiver ads this week. I'm going to run through all them. It's not just about putting up the most fantasy points when it comes to the waiver where. We got to add the context to it, right? We got to know how these guys could help you in the short term, but more importantly, how they're going to help you in the long term because the goal is to win your league, not just win this next week. But let's start with the injuries first. We'll begin with quarterback. We got a couple here. Justin Herbert, the poor guy just can't get right this season.

0:54.3

Started with the foot injury in the summer. Then he injured his ankle last week. He managed to still start.

0:59.8

Eventually he had to leave in the second half. And after the game, Jim Harbaugh said that was the plan that

if there was any sort of sign of a limp or anything, they were going to pull him out of the game

because they knew Herbert wouldn't make that call to take himself out so they made that move once he looked banged up and Taylor Heineke took over not Easton stick which is what I think they suggested earlier in the week. Heineke the more veteran backup there even though he's newer to the team but I think there's a good shot we're going to see Heineke start next week against the Chiefs because Herbert was in a walking

boot after the game.

1:30.0

They confirmed that he did re-injure that ankle.

1:32.4

X-rays came back negative, so that's good.

1:34.7

He said he still hopes to play in week four, but think about this.

1:37.7

The Chargers have a week five by.

1:39.7

So it only makes sense for them to sit him down for one game.

1:42.8

That gives them a couple weeks to heal up. And the matchup with the Chiefs, it's not great. So I'm going to be downgrading the Chargers past catchers until Herbert is back. Quentin Johnston still worth picking up. We'll talk about him when we get to the Waverware ad section. But just know he's been living off those touchdowns. That's what's kept him fantasy viable the last couple weeks

2:00.9

a lad mcconkey hasn't quite seen enough volume to be a fantasy starter yet he hasn't found the end

zone either so that's not helping but you might just want to sit those guys in week four if herbert's out

2:12.1

sam darnall so he hurt his knee in this one and that didn't stop him though i mean he still had

2:16.6

four touchdowns in this game another strong outing for darnall and even though he did hurt his knee in this one and that didn't stop him though I mean he still had four touchdowns

2:17.5

in this game another strong outing for darnall then even though he did hurt his knee he came

2:22.3

right back in the game didn't miss much time at all he said he was good after the win had an MRI

2:27.1

today it showed a bruise no structural damage so he seems like he should be fine and that viking's

2:32.7

offense they're humming right now and they're doing this without Jordan Addison though there's some talk today that maybe Addison could come back for week four They're also without T.J. Hawkinson. So what is this going to look like when all these weapons are healthy in the second half of the season? At least that's what we're hoping that all these guys are going to be healthy in the second half of the season. But hats off to Kevin O'Connell and his scheme.

2:52.5

Hats off to Darnel and the players on that team.

2:54.4

They're getting it done. It's a really fun story to start the year. The other quarterback injury to note, Skyler Thompson on the Dolphins, he just got battered in this game. He wasn't feeling pressure well, took a few blindside hits. I was actually shocked he stayed in the game as long as he did, but eventually he did leave with a chest injury.
