| 0:00.0 | Welcome, everyone to the score fantasy football podcast. I'm your host, Justin Boone, the lead fantasy analyst at the score. |
| 0:20.7 | Great to have you kicking off the week with us here. And as always, got a lot to go over on the Monday show, starting with the injuries from the weekend. And then we're getting into the top waiver pickups heading into week 13. But let's begin with the new additions to the injury list. And at quarterback, mostly minor stuff. There is one big one we'll talk about in a second. |
| 0:38.2 | But Sam Darnall, he limped off at one point, seemed to have rolled his ankle. We also know he was dealing with that foot injury in practice last week. So I'm not sure if that factored into it. But regardless, he was out for a couple plays. He came back in, not expecting that to be an issue moving forward. Baker Mayfield, he suffered a neck injury, probably a stinger, but he played through it. |
| 0:58.0 | And after the game, his head coach Todd Bull said that he is good. |
| 1:01.1 | So I take that as a very positive sign that we're going to see Baker under center in week 13. |
| 1:05.9 | Tommy DeVito, he left briefly on Sunday, but apparently he just had the wind knocked out of him. |
| 2:17.8 | And Brian Dable today said that DeVito will start against the Cowboys on Thursday if he's healthy. I assume there's no hidden meaning there that, you know, he's more hurt than just getting the wind knocked out of him or something. But DeVito wasn't great in that game as the giant starter anyway. I'm not sure Drew Locke would be that much better, but we assume that Locke would get the start if DeVito can't go. For the time being, I'm expecting that DeVito is going to be out there again. Now, the only notable injury, I did say that there is one among quarterbacks this week, Gardner Minshue breaking his collarbone, his season is over, and that means it's likely going to beat Desmond Ritter starting for the Raiders on that Friday game against the Chiefs, unless, of course, Aiden O'Connell gets cleared from IR, and O'Connell, he's been dealing with a thumb injury, that's what's kept him out. Antonio Pierce said today that they're going to rely on the medical staff to test him out. If he's cleared, he could potentially play on Friday, at least in theory. And that Friday game, that is a new one this year, the Black Friday game. I'm sure the NFL is hoping that it is not going to involve Desmond Ritter because we know he is not really an NFL starting quarterback. We saw that when he was with Atlanta. So it could get ugly for the Raiders on Friday. And they'll just have to hope that O'Connell's going to be healthy enough to get active. But even if O'Connell's out there, |
| 2:21.8 | it's not like it elevates that offense that much. For running backs, we got some important |
| 2:26.5 | ones to monitor here. And I had one league where I had buy issues this week. I actually started |
| 2:31.4 | Brian Robinson and Austin Echler thinking that the commanders are going to |
| 2:35.1 | roll over the Cowboys like most teams had recently. So then early in the game, Brian Robinson, |
| 2:40.0 | he gets his leg wrapped up under a defender. He gets hurt. He leaves with an ankle injury. |
| 2:44.4 | I wasn't happy about it, but I thought to myself, well, at least I still have Echler in that game. |
| 2:49.0 | Now he's going to scoop up even more touches. |
| 3:10.6 | Only Echler got hurt as well. He suffered a concussion. And even though Brian Robinson did return to the game at one point, he eventually left for good before it was all said and done. So we have Echler now seeming like a long shot to play in week 13, especially when he factor in that the commanders have a buy in week 14. but we'll have to watch to see how fast he can advance through the protocol. |
| 3:08.4 | Dan Quinn... especially when you factor in that the commanders have a buy in week 14 but we'll have to watch to see how fast he can advance through the protocol dan quinn met with him today said that he's doing |
| 3:13.6 | well but he is in fact in the protocol so i would expect that he's going to miss at least one game here |
| 3:18.7 | and then for robinson we don't know the severity yet it's possible he could play in week 13 but |
| 3:24.1 | again with the buy week coming next week, |
| 3:26.7 | I think it would make a lot of sense for Washington |
| 3:28.7 | to hold both these guys out until week 15. |
| 3:31.3 | And if that happens, Jeremy McNichols becomes a very interesting possible fantasy |
