Welcome, everyone to the score fantasy football podcast. I'm your host, Justin Boone, the lead fantasy

analyst at The Score. And today's episode, we're going to be running through the top Waverwire ads like we always do. And we're to recap the latest injury news. I think there might be a player who could be a serious difference maker down the stretch here. And he's available in most leagues. We'll talk about him coming up. But before we get to that, this is the time of year when you need to start setting up your roster for the fantasy playoffs. And obviously, if you're fighting for one of those final playoff spots, or if you still have a ton of bi-week issues, I know there's four teams on by week 11 and week 12, it's tougher to do that. But even if you are in those situations, this is the part of the season where you can start dropping dead weight from your bench, for the most part, in favor of high upside options.

So the last few episodes, we've talked about playoffs stashes, we've talked about late season breakout candidates.

Now I want to rattle off some of the players that you can cut before the fantasy playoffs.

Some of that dead weight you can get rid of, try to thin out your roster,

and focus on just upside and trying to win a fantasy title. And I mentioned in this week's

waiver wire column, which is up on the score right now, you don't need lower and wide receivers

anymore. You really don't. I'd much rather have high upside backup running backs. Those are the

guys who are going to come out of nowhere and help you win a fantasy title.

Right last year, think about Jalen Samuels and C.J. Anderson.

There's always a few of those every year who step up normally due to injuries in December or maybe even injuries in mid to late November.

But we're going to get to that in the injury section and in

the waiver wire sections coming up. So who can you drop heading into the fantasy playoffs?

Who can you let go as they're approaching? A.J. Green is the first one here that comes to

mind. And I know that might seem really surprising. And it's a little bit risky because

obviously we're talking about one of the best receivers in the game when he's healthy but I don't see a reason for green to come back and play

for this Bengals team it's a winless team they have a bad offensive line a fourth round rookie

quarterback that's just sort of helping them tank the rest of the season here with all the

injuries that Green's had this season I just think he'd be really smart to keep sitting out, to wait till next year to come back, get healthy. If you don't have an IR slot, that means you're going to have to release Green. And like I said, you're taking a bit of a risk because he could come back at some point here. And if he does, does he could play well but i've had a lot of people ask me about green and he's someone that

i am willing to just let go i would think if you've made it this far without him you probably

have better options so i'm not waiting for him any longer larry fitzgerald he still owned an

82% of leagues i know he just popped back up at 71 yards against the bucks, but that's about as good
