| 0:48.9 | The first agent is bupropion, and it has two different brand names. |
| 0:52.5 | One is Welbutrin, the other is xyban. |

| 1:00.2 | whilebutrin is indicated for depression only and the brand name zyvan is indicated for smoking |
| 1:06.6 | cessation only. It's important to note that although this agent is approved for depression, |
| 1:12.3 | it is not approved for anxiety like our SSRIs and S-NRIs. And the reason for that is that it can |
| 1:18.7 | actually worsen anxiety. So the way that buproprion or wellbutrin or zybin or zybin works is that |
| 1:24.8 | it's a weak dopamine norepinephrine re-uptake inhibitor. |
| 1:28.3 | So we don't have the serotonergic re-uptake inhibition that we saw with SSRIs and S-NRIs. |
| 1:33.3 | Some of the adverse drug reactions that we look out for are CNS simulation, so this might translate |
| 1:40.3 | to insomnia, restlessness, or as mentioned previously, worsening of anxiety. |
