I don't think there's a team in the country that has a higher ceiling than Texas with the amount of guys that could take over the game and absolutely wreck the opponent's offense.

And today is Monday, June 2nd. We are just five or so weeks away from Big 12 media days kicking off. So we are starting to steam ahead here pretty quickly. Fourth of July is coming up here in no time whatsoever. So here we are in the summertime. And I'm telling you guys, football will be here before we know it.

Today's going to be a fun show.

And I would imagine there's probably going to be some pushback with today's show as well.

Because anytime we do a ranking like this, there's always a notable omission that somebody has a significant problem with.

And I can understand that greatly.

But today we will do the top 10 defenses in college football

this upcoming year. And I think there's a lot of things that go into this. Returning production

is massive. Coach continuity is incredibly big. Making sure you adequately fill voids via the portal,

being able to look at guys that were very impactful last year as

young players and how much can they grow year over year? Because once you get through that first

year and you kind of survive as a freshman, then next time, sometimes in your sophomore year,

become an absolute game breaker. So trying to project forward a little bit. And we did some of

that today. Now, there are also a bunch of notables on this list as well where you just kind of look

at the culture of the program. You look at the culture defensively of the program and the league that

they play in perhaps. And naturally, you're going to kind of gravitate towards some teams that

have had success in the past.
