Hello friends, you have found the morning mindset. Welcome. I'm so glad that you're here.

0:10.1

My name is Carrie Green. I am a Bible teacher and pastor, and I'm here to help you get your

0:14.8

mind aligned with the truth of God's Word today. Because when we understand the truth

0:21.1

as God sees it, we're seeing reality. And we're able to align our lives with reality and

0:27.4

live in the best way possible for ourselves and for the benefit of those around us. Today

0:33.9

we're going to be looking at John chapter 13 verses 6 through 10. Now to set this up for

0:40.2

you, let me tell you a little bit about what's been going on. Jesus just had a meal with

0:45.7

his disciples, and it's the Passover meal. This is one of the Jewish celebrations where

0:51.1

began washing the feet of the disciples. Now in yesterday's episode, I talked about why

1:09.7

that was necessary. It was a custom in their day for very particular reasons. But as Jesus

1:15.9

is beginning to do that, we see here in John 13, beginning at verse 6, that one of his disciples

1:22.5

has a problem with it. Let's read, says he came to Simon Peter who said to him, Lord,

1:30.1

do you wash my feet? Jesus answered him, what I'm doing you do not understand now, but afterward

1:38.6

you will understand. Peter said to him, you shall never wash my feet. Jesus answered him,

1:45.3

if I do not wash you, you have no share with me. Simon Peter said to him, Lord, not my

1:52.5

feet only, but also my hands and my head. Jesus said to him, the one who is bathed does not need

1:59.0

to wash except for his feet, but is completely clean. Now friends, what's going on here? This

2:05.0

is a very interesting thing. Well, it sounds like the discomfort Peter was feeling at his master,

2:12.3

Jesus, washing his feet caused his pride to rise up and he was actually too proud to receive a

2:20.3

gift from his Savior. Now friends, stop for a moment and think about that statement. He was too
