Good evening. Tonight on the show I speak with Moscow, at Keterina Zolotovum, about the

water disputes in Central Asia. These are the stands once upon a time. There are two major

rivers that come out of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, the high mountains of the glaciers, and flow

into Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, where all the agriculture and Turkmenistan, where all

the agriculture takes place. There's also a canal being built in Afghanistan that will

divert a part of the river into Afghanistan away from the fields of Turkestan and Uzbekistan.

There are 78 million people in Central Asia. They're unknown largely to Europe, and especially

to the United States. They're ambitious. They want to raise up their standard of living.

They've escaped the Soviet boot for the 20th century. They're right up against China,

and they have opportunity. But they need water. And I remind my guest, Keterina, that phrase

from cowboy movies in the West, Whiskey's for Drinking, and Waters for Fighting, and they're

starting to dispute the water rights. Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have built hydroelectric dams.

They can be built better. They can use less of the water resource, but right now is tension

throughout Central Asia. Also tonight, conversation with John Fund about the first Republican

debate, and we speak especially of the governors, Governor DeSantis, Governor Christie, Governor

Haley, and Governor Pence, who was also Vice President Pence. John was pleased with the

department and the questions. Nothing to complain about. It's early days. Missing from the

stage was the man who was once elected president, and has obligations in court that very well

will limit his ability to appear anywhere in the campaign. We shall see. I'll speak
