Tonight on the show, I speak with Gordon Chang, my good colleague, about Beijing's intention

to elbow its way into the high table of the Arctic nations.

The Arctic nations are concerned about climate change and about keeping the waterways clear

of interference.

At the same time, China's claiming it is an Arctic nation despite the geography that discourages

that claim.

China's also conducting what we're told might be surveillance with buoys of perhaps

underwater activity, U.S. submarines, tracking other countries using the waterways in north.

China is a bully, it is understood, and the U.S. here to four is invited China's participation.

That is out of date.

Also tonight I speak with Gordon Chang and two of his colleagues.

One in particular, Lance Gattling in Tokyo, about the Japanese public's willingness now

to enter into arms building and defense building because of the threat of China, not only

against Taiwan, but also the recent military exercises in the Sea of Japan demonstrate that

Japan, too, could be attacked by the People's Republic of China.
