Good evening. The show begins tonight with crisis in commercial real estate in American

cities. This has been building for several years. The pandemic emptied buildings, emptied cities. The

buildings are not filling. They're half full or three quarters fill in New York.

Other cities have different ratios.

Dallas better. St Louis not better. The mortgages backing these are due and you can

extend and you can seek remedies but you can't pay the mortgage without a full

compliment of workers and staff. For example, the KPMG building in San Francisco is now going to see KPMG departing.

And at one time it had 100,000 square feet inside the building.

They're gone.

Other examples across the country. We begin with commercial real estate and what is to be done.

I have a discussion with Verenique de Riji about 1970s inflation, which I'm old enough to remember,

a can of tuna fish going from 59 cents to 79

cents to 99 cents in the course of my memory.

That was inflation then, but inflation didn't leave for many decades.

It became normative.

Why?

In part, because of spending, spending by the federal government leading to inflation, similar

to the spending we've had these last years.

So once again, do we debate inflation shocks? No, the presidential contest is not mentioning

it. To my knowledge so far.

And then to the courtrooms, former President Trump's candidacy is going to go from courtroom to courtroom according to the

schedule now extent, and discuss with Andrew McCarthy and Thaddeus
