0:06.3	the challenge and opportunity for Gavin Newsom Governor of Florida to fill the seat now
0:13.2	vacant by the departed Diane Feinstein, dead at the age of 90. The challenge is for Gavin
0:19.6	Newsom to fulfill his promise that the replacement if Diane Feinstein dies in office, which is
0:26.8	now the case, will be a female and African-American female. The governor has also said he will
0:33.9	not interfere in the ongoing primary race for that seat between Mr. Schiff, Ms. Porter
0:41.0	and Ms. Lee. Therefore, Bill gives us a list of possible appointees who would serve
0:46.9	about the term until November 2024 and the Congress ends in January of 2025. I also speak
0:58.3	with Harry Segal of the city and online journal about the efforts of the city to satisfy the
1:05.1	migrant waves that have hit New York and find shelter and sustenance for the people arriving
1:11.2	at about 2,500 a week was the most recent estimate. Hence, the 60-day eviction notice is going
1:19.0	out to all the males and females or without children, without family. They are now reaching
1:25.9	60 days in the shelters and they must find another accommodation. What that will be, Harry
1:32.2	does not know, nor apparently does the city. A running out of space is more and more people
1:38.2	pour in. Then a happy conversation with my friend Jean Marx who is back from traveling on the road
1:45.0	talking to small business associations from North Carolina to Atlanta to Texas. There is generally
1:54.9	a feeling of anxiety about the upcoming quarters. The order books ahead for the Association of
2:01.7	Fasciners for small-town bankers for packaging associations. The anxiety is that the orders do not
2:11.8	look vigorous for the first and second quarter of 2024. Then a conversation about California
2:20.0	and what is happening now, again, part of the migrant crisis across the globe is that buses
2:27.6	believe to be from the Department of Homeland Security are bringing migrants to San Diego,
2:33.3	opening the doors and letting everybody fend for themselves. San Diego is overwhelmed.
