Tonight a conversation with Henry Sikolsky about the nuclear weapons arsenal of the United States.

I learn according to a report Henry guided me to from the government accountability office

that the extreme risk is because the nuclear arsenal is out of date and over budget

and not expected to catch up with the plans of rebuilding the arsenal for 10 years at least.

The money at this point is available from Congress but not the direction of the arsenal.

Why this is important is that there are more than 4,000 warheads in the US arsenal.

About 1700 of them are attached to a delivery system.

At the same time Russia and now China continue to threaten nuclear weapons.

The answer for nuclear weapon threats in the Cold War, the first Cold War,

was to match them, nuke for nuke, the mutually assured destruction, the mad doctrine.

Right now the nuclear arsenal in the United States is dealing with buildings and architecture and protocols

that date to 1945, the Oppenheimer era.

The money is available from Congress if there is leadership

but the falling so far behind its Henry Sikowski's opinion that what's wrong is that it's a monopoly.
