Good evening. Tonight, on the show, I ask each of my guests as much as possible about their

memories of 9-11, 2001. Here we are 22 years later. In a land war in Europe with the threat

of a land war and sea war in the Pacific, and 22 years seems like yesterday for those of us

who followed and reported on the catastrophe in New York and Washington. We also address tonight

the question of Afghanistan in 2023, who was left behind American citizens or people who worked

with the American and ISAF forces as a new book Cabal by two journalists who very carefully

explicate the events of the spring of 2021 and the summer of 2021 when the Biden administration

made a hasty decision to leave Afghanistan no matter what by such and such a date. A disaster,

as detailed in the book and Bill and I mention it, I hope to be discussing the book with the authors

soon enough. Also tonight a conversation with Gordon Chang and Steve Yates about what

President Biden means by saying I don't want to contain China. It's a peculiar statement only

because the word contain reaches back to the First Cold War. Containment was the strategy chosen

by the United States to deal with the threat of the Soviet Union. Containment is a good idea when

you're dealing with a predator state which certainly we can observe China qualifies as a predator

state. Also a conversation with Brandon Wiker about the new Huawei phone. Be careful your phone

I think of it because it's got many different parts in it some of which might not entirely be

correct since Huawei is a suspect agent of the state security of the People's Republic of China

and the US and others have pretty much shut down its ability to sell or to operate

in much of the prosperous world. In any event the phone is made up of parts that it's not clear

where they come from or whether Huawei had them in storage or whether they're using them without
