I'm speaking with Tony Natale, who was involved with Keith Renary, who is known now as the convicted cult leader of Nexium from 1992 to 1999.

She's written a terrific new book with Chet Hardin called The Program

Inside the Mind of Keith Renary and the Rise and Fall of Nexium. Welcome, Tony Natale.

Thank you, Roberta. I am so excited to be doing your podcast. I absolutely love it.

I'm so excited that you agreed to it. So you write

in this book that you believe it was your destiny to meet Keith Renary. Why? Well, you know,

he kept showing up in my life repeatedly over and over again.

So I do believe that we can fight as much as we want our future,

but I think some of it is predetermined.

And there's things that through our life.

We have to get through and we have to do.

And my introduction to Keith and the fact that it continued I mean the

the relationship ended but the onslaught of him being more in my life

even after we were apart than when we were together didn't end until he was arrested

and each time that i would try to and i go into this in my book where i try to rebuild my life

he would come back and they would take another whack at me and i finally got to the part where i said, okay, so I guess this is my Dharma. Let's just

suck it up and get it down. Yeah, we were just talking and you were saying, I think I introduced

you as the next immune survivor. You just said, I was never involved in nexium, but you were really

involved with consumer byline, which has a history

many people don't know about. What was consumer byline? Consumer byline was a membership buying group,

and that's where I'm at key. And, you know, one of the things that I like, I want people to keep in mind as they're going to the process of trying to understand you know how does a woman get to the point where they lie in the table and get branded because in all reality what's happened with this story is it's gone from from the beginnings to just it's the branding and how did you get there.
