The arrival of Jesus Christ to take his church home is imminent. And I really believe that with all my heart and with me is another gentleman who believes the same thing.

Well, thank you. It's good to be here and be a watcher with you.

Well, thank you. And now you've been a watcher for a long time.

Now, he's Dr. Thomas Ice, but he's asked me to address him as Tommy.

And I'm privileged to do that. So I'm Gary. Tommy, listen, I have admired your work for years. You've written literally

hundreds of articles on eschatology, the study of the last days and the last things, extensively

on the subject of the catching away of the church, the rapture, popularly known. And so I want to talk with you today

about the rapture and in particular some of the controversies that are popping up these

days about the rapture of the church. I believe that literally while we're sitting here talking,

the rapture could occur. Right.

What do you think?

Well, of course.

Yeah, that's what we call the doctrine of eminence.

It's implied in probably about a dozen passages, passages that talk about looking for the blessed hope.

Actually, the word looking there means waiting.

And you have in the epistles primarily the idea that we're

waiting for the Lord from heaven. I think watching relates to the second coming. And you see that

in the all of it discourse and things like that. And so since there are no signs to look for, that's why

Scripture characterizes us as waiting for his son from heaven. First

Thessalonians 110, how they Thessalonians turned from idols to serve the true and living

God and to wait for his son from heaven.
