Welcome back for the Flash number 188, the May 1969 issued entitled The Most Colorful Villain

of All, written by John Broome, penciled by Ross Andrew, inked by Mike Esposito, edited by Julie

and Mike Esposito. I know from the title you're probably thinking, oh, Rainbow Raider, no.

It's a few more years down the line. And it's not so much colorful as one color, green. There's a lot

of green in this issue. A tremendous amount of green. For rather spurious

reasons, we'll see in a minute. We start in the home of the Allen's, both Iris and Barry,

are getting ready for a night on the town to go check out the exciting colorama. This is the

late 60s. People would go out to shows to see wonderful, vivid colors, you know, locked in a room with a bunch of other consenting adults.

This is normal.

This is what people do.

Barry's got his tucks on.

Ooh, nice.

They're about to head their way.

Out the door when all of a sudden over Barry's link up to the police scanner.

They hear the police calling for the flash because the

mirror master has escaped in his near Mount Vista. Iris is of course disappointed that Barry can't

go, but he knows he has to stop the mirror master. We see the famous costume popping out of the

ring shot. Instead of just a panel of Barry getting into the costume,

we get a full page explosion. An explosion happens as the costume pops out. Barry falls to the ground.

Iris runs up to him trying to wake him up. He seems to have been knocked out. He gets up a little
