Today we're going to talk about knots in our podcast and in three minutes in this podcast I'm going to teach you how to tie a nail knot, a barrel knot, and a bimini twist.

Actually, there's no way I can teach you out of tie knots in a podcast.

But there are some things we can talk about. You need a reference for knots and there

see animated steps. There are other websites that show you how to tie the knots.

So there are lots of references to tie the knots,

Probably the most important aspect of not tying and fly fishing is testing your knots.

I can't tell you the number of times that I've that I've tied a fly on and

cast it out to rising fish and the fish takes the fly and all of a sudden there's nothing there and the

end of that tip it comes back with a

curly cue in it telling me that either I didn't tighten the knot properly or I

never put the end through the loop anyway so you really need to test all of your knots before you throw it out there into the

into the great unknown. It's very easy to want you tie a knot to just test it and

pull on it as hard as you you think you're going to need to.

And if the knot breaks or if the knot gives way, then you know you got to tie it again.
