It's also a fascinating one and it's of interest to all of us. So I'd like to give you five

tips on access to fishing places. Tip number one is the most important and it is to know the riparian and

littoral access laws of your own particular state.

Riparian laws, riparian access or riparian easement refers to access along flowing waters and littoral access is usually used to describe

access to shoreline areas either on large lakes or on the ocean.

Very early on in the founding of our country

and in the Constitution, it was very clear

that the founding fathers wanted all moving waters, all surface waters,

to be held in trust by the state for the use of all the people. And that right has really been

upheld throughout the history of our country with varying degrees of interpretation and unfortunately for us it's up to the state to interpret

just to interpret and also make laws to determine how you can get to those waters.
