A Yo-Yo is a toy consisting of an axle connected to two discs, and a string looped

around the axle similar to a spool.

It's played by holding the free end of the string known as the handle

by inserting one finger, usually the middle or the ring finger, into a slipknot.

This allows gravity or the ring finger into a slipknot. This allows gravity or the force of a throw and gravity to

spin the yo-yo, unwind the string, and then the player allows the yo-yo to wind itself

back to the player's hand exploiting its spin.

Mm-mm, science.

Did you know that the yo-yo is an ancient toy that dates back to at least 444 BC?

We know this because a Greek vase painting from 444 BC shows a boy playing with a

yo-yo.

Greek records from the period describe toys made out of wood, metal, or painted terracotta,

which is just a fancy way of saying fired clay.

That's 440 years before the birth of Christ.

There is some school of thought that the Yo-Yo came from China 1,000 years

before the birth of Christ.

Let me ask you, do you think Jesus could have played with the Yo-Yo as a child?

I mean, it's possible. They were around back back then think about that for a minute a toy that we all grew up playing

Could have been enjoyed by a young Jesus too I bet you Jesus would have been really good at executing trick throws like

walk the dog around the world or even rock the baby. Also it's only a myth that

yo-yos had been used as weapons by some cultures. There isn't any evidence that it was ever used as such.
