Today, the Michael Berry Show is sponsored by Victoria Station.

Victoria Station was a chain of railroad themed steakhouse restaurants,

and at the peak of its popularity in the 1970s, the chain had 100 locations in the United States.

The very first location, however, was opened in San Francisco in December of 1969.

The restaurant was constructed out of five box cars and two cabooses,

around a central lobby service area.

A fella could walk right in and order prime rib, a staker, or even shrimp.

Shrimps lots of ways.

We can boil the food, boil it, braille it, bake it, saute it.

Days on shrimp come off, shrimp creole, shrimp gumball,

pan fried, deep fried, stir fried, there's pineapple shrimp,

lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp,

apple shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad,

shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger,

shrimp sandwich, that's about it.

The restaurant was grossing $90,000 monthly during its first year of operations.

Now, I went and done did the math on that.

That has the buying power of roughly $750,000 today,

but that success didn't last forever.

They closed the last restaurant here in America in 2017.
