Summary

This is not like most of my podcasts I share. This was a rough one. After the Atlanta and Boulder mass shootings, I wanted to share my thoughts about our current climate and share some info about the victims. I haven't spoke about this must on social media because it's hard to share these types of feelings or thoughts in 15sec bouts or a small caption. It just felt right to share it here instead. And below are some organizations and different sites/links to help you figure out how you can support the Asian communities around you as well as some of the victims families. 0:56.4	podcast to get my shit back together quite a few times. But so this won't be the normal podcast, you know, shooting the shit, having a good time making jokes because it just doesn't, it doesn't feel right right now and that's because we're just in

1:30.1	insane time that you know it has always gone on. But all these different race wars that seem to be going on. I'm obviously talking about the Atlanta
1:36.5	shooting and then we have our Boulder shooting here in Colorado as well.
1:43.0	And, you know, if you've listened to my podcast,
1:47.0	I've talked openly about this by being a white woman who doesn't understand what it's like to be a person of color in the
1:56.6	U.S. an immigrant in the U.S. I don't know what that's like and the fear that many people of color go through
2:09.4	every day I've never experienced that. I've experienced sexism in so many different ways in my life, but I've never experienced
2:25.0	what it's like to be a person of color.
2:31.3	I've also never experienced hating another race, a community that was different than my own.
2:36.4	I've just never experienced that.
2:39.2	I grew up with a very open-minded kind giving family.
2:48.9	And so I don't know what it's like
2:51.9	to be raised with these skewed ideas of what another race is like.
2:57.6	I just, I don't know what that's like.
2:58.9	My grandparents weren't like that.
