Is there anything more Washington than a fly-in?

I'm talking about the great capital tradition of getting everyone from the 50 states in town

and unleashing them on the halls of Congress for a few days of lobbying on behalf of farm bureaus,

realtors associations, and chambers of commerce.

Well, governor's got to be heard too.

And this week, if you think you saw Westmore's shiny head or Glenn Youngens Patagonia

vests walking by, well, you probably did.

That's because the National Governors Association's winter meeting is happening here in town.

And the Republicans and Democrats attending have a lot to talk about.

I think that governors across the board respect our democracy.

They might express that in different ways, but there's times when that takes, you know, court actions.

There's times when that takes media and public relations campaigns.

The man in charge of the NGA is Colorado Governor Jared Polis, who you probably know

for his political unpredictability.

Most recently, he caught some heat for backing a few of HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy

Jr.'s ideas to make America healthy again.

Before that, he was an advocate for a balanced-to-budget and lenient COVID policies,

but also a fierce proponent for same-sex marriage, legal marijuana, and dreamers.

You get the idea.

Polis has some big fish to fry this week.
