We spoke for a while about whether to record this episode and release it today.

I mean, there's no doubt that yesterday was one of the darkest moments in Australian history,

and while Pez and I obviously live in Melbourne now have done for a few years,

Sydney is very much home to both of us and to see the tragedy and the grief in a part of the world you're so familiar with

really does hit home hard fundamentally we decided that people would be opting into this show

if they decided they wanted to get away from the tragedy from the awfulness and the sadness

cricket and life will go on but we completely understand if there's differing views on that.

One thing is to say is that the attack on Australians and specifically the Jewish community,

yesterday afternoon was shocking, it was galling, it was heartbreaking, you've seen the news,

you've seen the clips, you've seen the takes.

My advice would be to stay away from grifters on the internet looking to divide us for personal gain.

Now is a moment to get around each other in whatever way.

That means to you, your mates, your families.

We'll be in Adelaide from tomorrow and ahead of the third test,

where there no doubt will remain grief, as it will for the rest of the summer.

We're going to do our best to provide entertainment and love, as we always do in this show,

for you to enjoy.

But the evil and the devastation that has visited this country right now is extremely profound.

it's there is a certain amount of grief that will um remain over the summer i suggest yeah the

uh the satirical performative host hostility ain't hitting the same today.
