Welcome to the Dr. Berg's Healthy Kito and Interminute fasting podcast, where Dr. Berg takes you on the journey for the truth about getting healthy and losing healthy weight. Hey guys I want to do a video based on a question someone had relating to feeling tired after eating on

0:51.0

omead one meal a day.

0:53.4

Okay?

0:54.6

So there's usually two reasons why you're tired after you eat.

0:58.3

One is you're pre-diabetic and you have instant resistance,

1:01.1

which means you have high insulin.

1:02.8

But if you're not a pre-diabetic, like this lady I talked to

1:07.6

wasn't a diabetic or even pre-diabetic, in her situation,

1:11.6

it was really just the parasympathetic nervous system kicking in.

1:15.0

Now what is the parasympathetic nervous system?

1:17.0

This is the system that is called rest and digest, as in sleeping and digestion.

1:24.0

So your entire digestive system is under this system right here.

1:30.0

Compared to the sympathetic nervous system, which is flight or fight, being chased by a tiger.

1:37.0

So during the day, you're mostly sympathetic and you're not as much parasympathetic, but at night you're like 100% parasympathetic and you are

1:45.1

going to get a little better digestion at night just for the fact that you're

1:49.3

starting to activate this system right here so So it's totally okay to have your one meal at 8 o'clock at night

1:59.2

or even at 9 o'clock at night and then go to bed a little bit later. It's not a problem at all.

2:04.3

So what I told this person basically it's not always a pre-diabetic situation, it could

2:10.5

just be that you're stimulating the person's ahetic system and that's just one of the effects that's created.
