Hi and welcome to the Orvis Fly Fishing Guide podcast. This podcast is being

recorded on August 13th 2014 and have a great guest on today a little bit later in the podcast Brian O'Keefe who is

Just a great all-round guy fisherman photographer. We'll talk about him a little bit later, but Brian's an old friend and

colleague and and he's he's great he's a he's great on a podcast and he gives

us some great information. But before we get into the Brian's tips on catching steelhead and warm water,

let's do the flybox.

So first up, here's an email from Tim Allen who's a regular

regular questioner on the flybox section.

Tim was fishing in Flaming Gorge in the lake. He unfortunately didn't

get a chance to fish the Green River below Flaming Gorge but he did fish in the

lake and he said this particular instance occurred while

landing a swamow. As I brought him in close I noticed several other small mouse

following very closely near the fish I had hooked. I have noticed this few other times in the past with

both Smalleys and Trout have never understood why they do this. I always thought

that when you're fighting a fish that fish must be putting other fish in the area down with

this sporadic and panic swimming but seeing these fish following alongside my

hookfish make me things differently any thoughts on this?

Yeah Tim I've seen this too if You see it a lot in salt water fish. Stripers, Dorado, or Bluefish are three that I can think of offhand.
