is going to be taking over for Jonah Goldberg while he flits about doing God only knows what.

And as part of the takeover, I have invited a long time, good friend to the pod, to talk succulents,

national parks, balloons, immigration. I don't know who knows what we'll discuss today. It is the one,

the only former CIA operative, but also maybe he was in Congress. He's been a New Hampshire,

which is a weird place to visit in the winter. Well, we'll see what he's up to. Will

heard. Welcome to the remnant. What's up Sarah? Thanks for having me on. So we first met

over margaritas and chips at El Aroyo. That's right. And in Austin, Texas. We're over 10 years now.

Our 10 year anniversary has passed, friend. I think it's more than 10 years from being honest.

No, it is. That's what I'm saying. I think it's like, I think we're at like 12 maybe more. Yeah,

because I think I think we first met after I had already been in the CIA. I had already been out

of the CIA. That was around 2009, 2010-ish. So it's, you know, we're lacking up the times.

We're getting so I'm so old that my interns are now old. That's what really sunk in for me

when like my former interns are now like in their 30s. I was like, uh-oh.

Those are some old interns. Just for the record. Okay. 30 year old intern. Yeah.

I hopefully as a career change or career path difference. You know, the part I felt old,

I was given a speech at a university and I referenced Y2K. And the look, the look in the crowd,

they were like, what the heck is Y2K? And I stopped and I said, everybody raised their hand if you

know what Y2K is. Probably about 100 kids, students, excuse me. And none of them knew what Y2K was.

Right. Like that's when I was like, wow. Yeah. What's so funny about that is like,

you know, you talk about old movies or sign-failed references or whatever and you're like,
