Hey, my friends, I wanted to bring you to a very special spot for me.

It's right along the shore of the Sea of Galilee.

Let me show you what I'm looking at.

So we're at a place in Israel called Peter's Primacy.

It's a Catholic church, and of course we know their belief about Peter is a little bit

skewed. But one thing that I do love about this site is that it commemorates the episode

with Peter in John 21. You say, well, Kurt, what is that episode?

That's the episode where Peter had been told by the Lord, along with the other disciples,

to meet him in Galilee and there to receive essentially marching orders, great commission

orders.

This was during the ascension period of Jesus.

And so, or rather prior to the ascension in the resurrection period of Jesus. So the disciples

did indeed make their way back up to Galilee. And they made a really bad decision in John 21.

Peter, on behalf of the other seven, made the decision to go fishing, not recreational fishing,

but back to the industry of fishing, to go out at night, to catch fish, to go back to that business.

The only problem is Jesus had called him away from those nets

to be fishers of men. In just a day or two, Jesus would commission them to go into all the

world and preach the gospel to every creature. That commission in Matthew 28th was here in

Galilee, a mountain not too far behind me. Can't see it from here.
