I don't know if it's playing Uno or running a foot race or whatever the case is.

We just tend to want first place or at least second place.

Verse by verse, it's what we do here at Everyday Truth, and we just take a book of the Bible,

and we wade through it verse by verse and discover what it is that God has for us,

knowing that the Word of God is quick.

That means it's alive, it's powerful, and it speaks to the issues of our

life. And I hope that those of you, at least that are faithful listeners, I hope that you see

just how incredibly relevant the Word of God is. As we study it day by day, how many times are the things that we

are learning on a daily basis, just applicable that very day to our lives? That's not Kurt

Skelly. I don't have that ability. No, that's the Lord. The Lord uses his word to minister to us in ways

that we desperately need. And without the word of God, we are directionless. Without the word of God,

we are purposeless. We lack purpose. How's that? Without the word of God, we just are in a world of hurt.

So thank you for joining us day by day to study God's word. And we find ourselves today in Matthew

20, verse number 17, Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the 12 disciples apart in the way and said unto them.

So understand that this is toward the end of Jesus' public ministry.
