Today is Thursday, March 12th. Wild winds have turned fatal this week. Authorities say a tree fell

on a car near Highway 2 in Monroe, killing the driver.

It happened along Florence Acres Road. And in Carnation, Eastside Fire and Rescue spent nearly

two hours last night pulling someone from a trailer that got crushed by part of a 70-foot-tall

The worst of the winds have passed, but about 14,000 homes and businesses in Western Washington are still without power as of this afternoon.
