Nine current and former international students at schools in Washington State are suing the federal government. They say the Trump administration unfairly revoked their legal status to live and study

here in the U.S. The students filed the class action suit in U.S. District Court yesterday.

The lawsuit says students were targeted for minor crimes or non-existent crimes, and they weren't

given a chance to challenge those findings. The Seattle Times reports that two of the plaintiffs have

never been charged with a crime and another was acquitted by a unanimous jury. The latest suit

is not the first legal challenge. A separate group of students filed another suit last week.

At least 23 students and recent graduates of UW have had their legal status revoked.

Meanwhile, students and faculty at the University of Washington have created a new defense fund to support students who aren't U.S. citizens.

A federal judge in California issued a preliminary injunction against Trump's executive orders targeting such cities.
