Thursday, July 24th. Starting with slimming down the program meant to keep kids out of jail.

King County has announced new limits on the use of this signature program called Restorative Community Pathways. We'll call it RCP from here on.

The county prosecutor had been sending youth accused of misdemeanors and low-level felonies to

RCP, but now prosecutor Lisa Mannion says some of those youth are reoffending at too high a rate.

New analysis found that of the youth that committed felonies and went to diversion instead of

jail, more than half reoffended within two years.
