Hey, friends, it's me again here in the studio in Fredericksburg, Virginia. We are in Genesis 23 today talking about graveyards and land purchases.

Sounds really kind of dull, but wow, there is some great teaching and things for us to

understand in this chapter. And I want to dive right in. So we're in Genesis

23. Let's pick it up in verse 9, which is where we left off yesterday, where Abraham is requesting

this specific cave, a burial cave called Machpala. And we find that in verse number, where are we here? Verse number nine.

And he, it's owned by this man named Ephron, and he wants to buy it. So verse number 10,

and Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth. And Ephraun, the Hittite, answered Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth.

So this is a very public thing.

It's probably at the city gate.

And they consult with Ephraon.

He comes to the public gathering.

And here's what Ephron says to Abraham.

He says, even of all that went in at the gate of a city saying, nay, my lord, hear me.

The field, give I thee. And the cave that is therein, I give it thee. In the presence of the sons of my people,
