Summary

Throughout the holiday season, I thought it would be fun to revisit some Christmas-related topics that I’ve recorded in the past.  We have had over 50K downloads in the last 30 days, so I  know there are many new listeners out there, and even if you aren't a new listener and you actually remember these episodes chances are you will STILL be encouraged by hearing them again!  I have current episodes posted over these weeks as well, but I'm really trying to spend time with my family and keep things simple and unhurried through this season. I hope you are too! USE THIS LINK TO LISTEN Here is today’s episode description: Today’s episode is called, Cultivating Your Family’s Holiday Culture Be intentional! It's the battle cry of the many parents out there who want to do a good job raising their kids. We want important things to STAY important things. It's no different at Christmas, but it also happens to get more complicated at Christmas. So many possibilities, so many things we could do. Today we are talking about how to cultivate your family's holiday culture.  It's so important to consider where you are as a family: season of life, budget, uniquenesses of your children, etc. Heather Haupt and I are also discussing why it's important to cultivate a culture in your family, not just at Christmas but throughout the year and we will be walking you through a few guiding principles that will help you prayerfully personalize your family's holiday culture!    PLEASE CHECK OUT THE FOUR HOUR SCHOOL DAY ON AMAZON, YOUR FAVORITE BOOKSELLER OR DURENDAWILSON.COM

Hey, moms, welcome to this episode of the Dorinda Wilson podcast. I'm Dorenda Wilson, wife to one,

0:16.4

mom to eight, Nana to seven, and 26-year veteran homeschooling mom. I always like to go through that

0:21.4

little roundup just to make sure that those who are new and listening know just a teeny bit

0:26.6

about me. But I'm really glad you're here with me today as we officially continue moving into

0:33.7

the Christmas season. Okay, so if you haven't checked out my three books, I would encourage

0:39.1

you to do that. Again, I think that these might make a really great Christmas gift, either for

0:44.1

yourself or for a friend, the Unhurried homeschooler, a simple, mercifully short book on homeschooling,

0:49.5

Unhurried Grace for a Mom's Heart, a devotional that I wrote specifically for homeschooling

0:53.7

moms,

1:00.2

and the four-hour school day, how you and your kids can thrive in the homeschool life.

1:04.2

All three books can be found on Amazon. They can also be found on my website.

1:16.1

The four-hour school day can be found at just about any of your favorite booksellers as well. Well, I'm so thrilled that you're here.

1:20.5

I'm thrilled that you made it through Thanksgiving. I actually love Thanksgiving. I think it's one of my favorite holidays because there's a lot less hoopla involved in all of it. It's just a time to be thankful and be with family and,

1:29.5

you know, just have a hopefully a good conversation around food. But I always have felt that right

1:37.4

after that Thanksgiving dinner, the starting gun goes off. Like it's, okay, it's the holiday season and now we're going into, we've got to prepare

1:46.9

for Christmas and do all the things concerning Christmas.

1:50.6

And so I just want to challenge you, moms, to really try to keep the focus of this season

1:59.5

what it was meant to be. And that's why I'm doing these

2:03.6

throwbacks of the Christmas podcasts that I've done in the past because I, too, am trying to

2:12.6

keep things simple and unhurried and spend time with my family. And I think these podcasts will be a real encouragement to you.

2:20.2

So I'm revisiting some of these Christmas-related topics that I've recorded in the past.

2:25.3

And because I know that we have a lot of new listeners, you probably didn't hear them.
