The Michael Berry Show to me the beauty of talk radio

It's called spoken word in in the format and there's a time and place for everything.

I'm not trashing music radio, music radio has his place and every there's a time where

to me listening to music is a very passive consumption.

You're having a bad day, you're exhausted, whatever it may be,

sometimes you just want the music to wash over you. And so you go to the format that appeals to you.

We used to have a format called Country, and that's where Country Artists would perform Country Music. Now they have something they call

country but it's just pop with a twang. Or classic rock would be another one because of my age

and kind of what I grew up with. there's there's all sorts of formats you

know top 40 the hottest new that's been around for a long time but to me the

beauty of the talk format is that it lets us contemplate, consider.

And every talk show host has a different approach

and I often state what mine is

so that you understand how we're different not better not

worse but different so that you understand what I'm trying to accomplish. I don't

often try to tell you what to think partly because it's a fool's errand.

You run your own household, you run your own business, you run your own life, you have your

own skills and experiences and you're better than me at

some things and maybe not as good as me and other things, but who am I to tell you how to

think about things just because I feel that way? I will state my opinion and you can choose to take it or leave it but that's the

marketplace of ideas right you get to choose which cereal box you buy off the

shelf or which beer or whatever other product.
