Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to report a trade.

We have a trade to announce.

This is not a minor trade. This is not an inconsequential trade.

This is a consequential trade, the terms of which are the Brooklyn Nets trading

Kyrie Irving and Marquie F. Morris to the Dallas Mavericks for former net

Spencer Dinnwitty, Dorian Finney Smith, Dallas's unprotected 2029 first-round pick,

and Dallas's seconds in both 2027 and 2029.

Wow. And much to discuss here, I'm sure we're going to spend quite a bit of time

unpacking this from each team's perspective, from Kyrie's perspective,

from the jilted suitors perspective. But first, just a little bit of discussion

of how we got to this point. After we recorded on Friday, there's a bit more

reporting from Chris Haynes indicating that these stipulations were based on

potentially winning a championship for Irving. I interpreted that to mean

that he might only get part of his contract guaranteed if they want a championship.

And then I'll air Gordon. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Or I think Al Horpers and Loan

who said that. And then and Spencer Dinnwitty, I think he gets a $1 bonus

they won the championship. Mortimer. But that's different. That's a bonus.

That's not necessarily a guarantee. And then Haynes reported that he would not

resign with Brooklyn, even if they offered him a max contract,

even if they offered him a max contract right now, he would not accept it

because he was so pissed off at that potential stipulation.
