Let's start with a good news story.

In North Texas grandmother retires from dillards.

After 74 years of working there,

she started as an elevator operator in Tyler

back in 1949, the story from KLTV Tyler.

90 year old Melba Me Bayne is retiring after working at this same

dillard store for 74 years, formally known as another

department store until 1956.

She kind of had out most of the fellow employees and all

retired and it was kind of a new generation.

So she decided to maybe maybe time to go do something

It all goes back to 1949 when Melba started as an elevator

operator. She later worked in the men's clothing department

and eventually stayed in Cosmetology.

I love everybody there and I love to go to work here every day.

She loved, she really enjoyed the conversations with the people.

Vice President of dillards Drew Dillard-Mathini has known Melba for 65 years.

She is the happiest, most up person.

She gives so much service to the community.

She's made so many friends.
