Hello and welcome to At Barrens. I'm Andy Surwer.

0:07.0

And welcome to our guest, Ali DeBaj, who is the CEO of Janice Henderson.

0:11.0

Ali, nice to see you.

0:13.0

Thanks for having Andy.

0:14.0

So most of our audience knows about Janice going back to when it was the GoGo growth stock manager based in Denver, merged

0:23.1

with Henderson in 2017 before you became CEO.

0:26.8

But why did the two firms combine, again, before your time, but I'm sure you know.

0:31.1

Yeah.

1:10.3

to into 1934, so about 91 years ago,

1:13.6

which is that really deep research, understanding companies, and using that to invest on behalf of our clients,

1:21.6

and making sure we create alpha, make sure we create beneficial financial outcomes for our clients. That's the thread that really tied these firms together that we have to this day.

1:31.3

In fact, our director of research in the U.S. always talks about knowing the companies we

1:37.3

invest in better than the people who work at those companies.

1:40.3

That's kind of the mantra, and that was really the glue that stuck these two firms together. And today we are one firm, putting one foot in front of the other, and trying to be successful

1:48.0

in this asset management world for our clients.
