Summary

Today's video is really important to me. I think this tactic of having a distorted version of Jesus and using him to reject and reinterpret the Bible is a rising trend in progressive circles. I hope this short response will help those who have become confused by this tactic. I don't want us to replace the true Christ with a Christ fashioned after ourselves. 0:30.7	What's behind that what's going on there Mike? This has become a controversial phrase recently, but I would just agree with it. I mean I would say in and of itself the words of themselves I would totally agree with Jesus does love me and I know
0:43.6	it because he shows me like this is what the Bible tells me about Jesus right that
0:47.8	God demonstrated his own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for the
0:51.9	ungodly.
0:53.0	So yeah, the cross is the demonstration of God's love.

0:59.0	What we're doing is we're taking a true words,
1:00.9	but when you look at the context of them, you realize it's a subtle denial of the more classic song, Jesus Loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so.
1:09.0	Yeah. So we want to, we're really, this isn't about knowing God's left through Jesus.
1:13.4	This is about saying I don't trust the Bible.
1:16.8	Yeah. Right. I don't have to take it as God's word.
1:19.2	Well, I think it's also just this tendency in the progressive Christian church to say Jesus is the word
1:26.7	and in their mind somehow that means the Bible isn't or that the that we can sort of discredit or disregard the Bible because we have Jesus.
