Coming up. At least five people have been shot, two have died, and there may have been another deadly attack in New York City just last night.

Police in Washington, D.C. and New York City are pleading with the public for help to find a suspect who they believe is responsible for five, possibly six shootings targeting people experiencing homelessness between the two cities.

And they're trying to get the word out that they want anyone who's homeless, anyone who is

living outside to seek shelter for their own protection at this time because this individual is at

large. I'm joined by Katie Kairas, a reporter at WUSA 9 in Washington, D.C. Katie, thank you for

being here with us. We appreciate it. Hi, Will. Thanks for having me.

So let's go back a few weeks ago when all this appeared to start in the Washington, D.C. area.

Tell us what we know about what happened originally in early March.

What we know so far is that this has been a string of attacks, and this started

under two weeks ago. On March 3rd, a man was shot and wounded, and this happened on the 1100

block of New York Avenue, Northeast, and he had non-life-threatening injuries, so presumably he was

able to speak to the police. He's okay. Then on March 8th, another

man who was sleeping on the street as well was shot and wounded on the 1700 block of 8th Street

Northeast, not far from the first incident. He also survived. But on March 9th, the man was

fatally shot and stabbed and his body was found on the 400 block of

New York Avenue Northeast, and there was a tent fire where his body was found. That's how

police found him and realized what had happened. And it's not clear exactly when he was shot,

just that his body was found on that morning of March 9th. Then we come to this weekend, and in New York City on Saturday morning, two men in separate

areas of Soho were each shot. They were both sleeping on the street, and one died.

And there's actually a six incident that just happened last night that police are now investigating to see if it's

connected to these other attacks. But what we know is that what they all have in common is all
