We're going to dive in.

We may even be getting a little bit of sneak preview to a little bit of work that Jacob is doing on his preseason hitchhiker's guide to the running back position.

So we're going to dive into some backfields that either have competitions for different reasons or we're in preseason and we're still wondering how the touch shares are going to go, whether that's to do with rookies, whether that's to do with injuries or maybe coaching changes. So it's going to be a fun show here as we dive into some of these teams. Jacob, thanks for jumping aboard the show.

And as we record this Monday, the 11th of August, we have one weekend of preseason in the books.

0:46.4

And we only have a couple of

0:53.5

weeks left. I felt over the weekend, I may have overextended myself a bit when it got to like

0:55.0

drafting and diving into stuff. There's a, the King's Classic is an auction format with a redraft

1:00.4

league that's on at the Fantasy Football Expo every year, but they have an international version of

1:06.2

the event now, so an online format. We did that this weekend, but I'm feeling that the doors and the walls are closing in. We need to get these drafts in the books, and we need to like make every second count, and with a 10-month-old in the house, it can be tricky to get those moments to make those drafts happen. So are you feeling that that we're like getting so close to the season that we need to get these drafts done? Definitely. I had my first main event fast draft last night and I remember I was like, you know, trying to look through my buddy that I usually do a couple teams with. It's texting me and say we got to schedule these in and I'm looking and I'm like, oh my God, I already have a few of these that are scheduled with other people. I have a trip to Toronto to go see Oasis. I'm looking at it and I'm like, oh, where am I gonna fit in these drafts? It always sneaks up on you. I felt the same way with when I was trying to plot out when I'm going to release each of these preseason hitchhiker's articles. And I was like, oh, my God, basically I've got to get one of these out every three days. Yeah, it gets crazy in and around this time for sure. It always feels like a complete mad dash. It kind of feels like it comes out of nowhere. Um, but it's

1:10.3

really exciting. I mean, this is, this is the most fun time. We're in the, uh, we're in the,

2:17.5

uh, we're in the end game now. Yeah, and it's, uh, we always, like you mentioned going to say Oasis, I'm, I'm going to an event in London, uh, in a couple of weeks time. And that rules out like a complete Sunday of potentially drafting so you're trying to alter those plans so

2:20.6

we will get them all done and hopefully that leads us to championship glory at the end of the season.

2:17.8

We are going to dive those plans. So we will get them all done. And hopefully that leads us to championship glory at the end of the season.

2:22.7

We are going to dive in here.

2:37.0

You mentioned the Hitchhiker's Guide. I guess a good chance to plug that as we get ready to start off here. That'll be up on the substack. Is that right? That's right. Yeah. so for anyone who's at all familiar with my column inside the NFL season, I write at least

2:38.0

twice a week, the Hitchhiker's Guide to Running Back, which it's sort of a streaming running

2:54.9

back column, but especially early in the season, we touch on basically the shifts and changes

2:58.9

in every backfield.
