Hi everyone, welcome to Add Home with Sally. I'm Sally Clarkson and I have the biggest

privilege in the world to be with so many friends from all over the world who join me every

week to listen to my stories, inspiration, biblical encouragement. And I am just so glad

that you're here today. Thanks so much for joining me.

Hi my friends, how are you? How I wish that I could see you face to face and I've been

getting the sweetest, most wonderful letters and notes and just praying for lots of you

and it would be so fun to be sitting on my bench outside my house here in Oxford and just

to have a cup of tea and find out what's going on in your life. I really do feel so close

to so many of you and I've gotten to know so many of you through this podcast and through

social media. But I have had a crazy week and I am so happy just to be here today to be

talking with you about what's going on in my life and what's going on in your life. One

of the things that I've been thinking a lot about and that I'll be talking a little bit

about today is just the whole idea of overcoming, overcoming is a concept and I was looking

at the kind of the etymology of it. I love to look at the history of words, the etymology.

And it said that basically it means to have victory and to rule over something to a place

of victory. And so as I come both to my life this week as well as to my some of the things

that I wanted to talk with you about in my podcast that I'll be doing on help I'm drowning,

bothering the storms of life with grace and hope. I've thought a lot about just this whole

idea of overcoming and that's kind of going to be my word for today. How do we do it?

And I'm just going to mention it to begin with because I've got so much else to tell

you. I'm afraid I may not get back to some of the biblical aspects of what I've been

looking at. But it seems that a part of the battle between good and evil, between us learning
