Summary

Today, we're diving deep into the turbulent currents shaping our world with none other than geopolitical expert Ian Bremmer. In this compelling dialogue, we unpack the seemingly insurmountable challenges and potential solutions surrounding AI, global political instability, and the future of American democracy. Ian Bremmer, founder of the Eurasia Group, joins Tom to discuss why he views Trump as a necessary "chaos agent" in a broken American system, the critical role of transparency and regulation in AI development, and the potential backlash against wealth-driven acceptance at universities. They delve into the geopolitical ramifications of conflicts in regions like Ukraine and the Middle East, the deteriorating state of U.S. political institutions, and the global implications of increased individualism and capitalism. Together, they also explore the existential risks posed by unregulated AI, the urgent need for collaboration between tech companies and governments, and the potential for a radical reshaping of world order within the next decade. Tune in as Ian brings his unique perspective to bear on the complex interplay of technology, politics, and societal change in this era of unprecedented transformation. 0:21.4

with Ian Bremer in part two of this incredible

0:25.0

conversation Ian and I go over some of his powerful insights and provocative

0:30.2

thoughts that you'll definitely want to hear. Let's dive right back in.

0:35.0

One of the things that I talked to people about a lot is, hey look, lying is a powerful tactic,

0:42.0

but be careful because if you use it, it will work sometimes and then

0:46.7

other times you will just become known as a liar.

0:49.9

And when I look at the division that we're going through right now and what is it you know about this moment and I can't speak to whether the rest of the world is falling prey to the same thing or not but in in a world where anybody can pick up their phone and live stream to the rest of the world,

1:07.0

your lies are going to be found out terrifyingly fast,

1:11.0

and that is going to absolutely erode your credibility and on top of that

1:17.2

now you get into a position where there's just the level of disdain and distrust that people are going to have

and that's where you get that powder keg where all the sudden a country which has a host of problems just all coming together at one moment

1:40.0

really starts to be super unnerving.

1:43.6

But when I look out at what I would want people to take away,

1:49.2

because I have a, I'm very much an individualistic thinker in that I think at the level of the

1:55.1

individual so I'm not good at what you're good at which is global geopolitics

2:00.4

like you see how all the puzzle pieces add up what I understand is is the
