My brother passed last January, as most of you know, and there was a police memorial in

Austin where officers who died were put on the wall and I went up for the ceremony and

head of the Houston Police Officers Union, Ray Hunt, took the program from that event.

He was also there.

And he sent a Houston Police Officers shirt and cap and things to my parents and they

love that sort of stuff.

And it had taken about six weeks for my mom to thank him for that because she's old

fashion.

And so it took about six weeks, however long that's been since that happened.

So she called and left this message on his voicemail at the office and said, hey, that

was a very thoughtful thing you did.

And it's taken me this long to thank you because I had to work up the strength to mention

So anyway, because of that, we were talking about grief and how we cope with grief.
