Hey you and welcome. My name is Mike. And what happened on a remote Californian mountain,

about 50, 50 odd years ago, still goes down as one of the scariest disappearances of all time.

And as somebody's covered, just like, you know, a couple of them. That is a statement I would

fully agree with. Co-signed that to the fullest. The Yuba County Five story is as terrifying as it is horrifying,

not only by what they did find in that remote cabinet in the woods,

but by what they didn't find.

And just thinking about how they even got there,

nothing in this story makes sense whatsoever.

Yuba County lawmen called this one of the more bizarre missing person cases they've ever handled.

Their only hope now is that one of the search teams turns up something soon,

or that someone who knows something will contact them and offer some helpful information.

Somebody made them kids do this. They never done it on their own at all. I know they didn't.

Full disclosure, I covered the story of the Yuba County 5 about six-ish years ago, and I did not do a very good job of it then. And since reading, things aren't right by Tony Wright, an excellent book

on the UB County 5 disappearance. Well, there's some crazy, crazy things to this story

that have never really been touched on. The facts he dug up in an already disturbing disappearance

just make it more so when nothing makes sense and any conclusions you can come to are all

equally terrifying. So, let's give it a goo.

In 1978, Yuba became the scene of one of the United States most enduring mysteries when five friends just vanished off the face of the earth for seemingly, well, completely unknown reasons, but what we

could theorize about their reasons are bizarre and perplexing. Those five men, the boys, became

known as the Yuba County Five. What made those five men drive into the mountains? When they

had places to be and things to do?

We don't know. Why did they leave the car? Who else was there?
