Summary

In today’s devotional, we’re going to continue our pursuit of stirring up our affections for God by looking at how God exchanges our burdens for his peace. As a society, we are more continually stressed now than ever. Stress has become our new normal. But in God, we have the opportunity to live with a peace that surpasses our understanding. May God guide us down his path to peace today as we make space for his presence.

Our Scripture for today comes from Matthew 11:28-30, and today's worship is Peace by Josh Baldwin.

Faith doesn’t happen on its own. It’s a byproduct of time spent experiencing the faithfulness of our God. It’s a gift given to us by the Giver of good gifts, himself.

It was a supernatural faith that allowed Paul to sing even while in chains. It was supernatural faith that allowed Peter to proclaim the gospel, even unto death. And it’s supernatural faith that will carry you to and through the greatest gospel opportunities in front of you.

1:26.3	that we read for today. You have a God who loves you so much that he offers to take your burdens

1:40.6	Where does your life feel heavy? Where do you feel buried under the burdens of the world?
1:50.4	God offers you His peace today, if you will take some time to align yourself with Him and
1:57.1	yoke yourself to the teaching of Jesus. In Matthew 11, Jesus presents us with an image of two
2:05.6	animals sharing the burden of work together. The point Jesus is making here is in reference to
2:12.7	coming under His teaching. He asks us, Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle
2:21.0	and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. He isn't asking us simply to cast our
2:29.3	burdens on Him, but also to humble ourselves and submit to His teaching. If we are willing
2:37.9	to come underneath Him as our teacher, then we no longer carry the burden of figuring out life
2:44.5	on our own, and in freedom we are able to live life under the power and influence of the Holy
